About The Woman Beneath the Busy

There can come a time in a woman’s life when everything looks perfectly fine from the outside, yet something inside feels different. Perhaps you’re tired of always being busy. You feel overwhelmed by everything you carry, or you’ve spent so long being everything to everyone that you’re no longer quite sure where you fit amongst it all. You might simply find yourself thinking: “I just don’t feel like myself anymore.” For many women, these feelings emerge in midlife — a season that can bring changing roles, shifting priorities, burnout, overwhelm and, for some, the transition through perimenopause or menopause. But The Woman Beneath the Busy isn’t about fixing you or giving you another list of things to do. It’s an invitation to become curious. To look at where your energy is going. To notice the roles and expectations you’ve collected along the way, the stories and beliefs that may still be shaping your choices, and the places where pushing, striving, people-pleasing and endless doing have quietly become your normal. And then, to turn your attention back towards you. What gives you energy? What brings you joy? What have you stopped making time for? What sparks your creativity and curiosity? What matters to you now? And perhaps most importantly — how do you want to feel in this next season of your life? Through gentle insights and opportunities for reflection, The Woman Beneath the Busy explores energy, identity, beliefs, alignment, joy, creativity, gratitude, presence and intentional living, not as more things to master, but as invitations to reconnect with yourself. This next season isn’t about reinventing yourself. It’s about remembering who you are beneath the busy. Less pushing. Less striving. Less pressure to be everything to everyone. More energy. More joy. More intention. More of you. A gentler rhythm for life — one that allows you to feel fully like yourself again.

Meet Your Guide - Jacqui

Hello! I'm Jacqui,  The Woman Beneath the Busy is particularly close to my heart because, in many ways, I first wrote it for myself. I’d reached a season where I felt burnt out and overwhelmed, yet strangely underwhelmed by life. I was tired, lacking my usual zest and beginning to wonder where I had gone amongst all the doing. While I knew perimenopause may have been part of the picture, I also knew it couldn’t be the whole story. I became curious about my own life — where my energy was going, what I was making space for, what I’d stopped doing that brought me joy, and what truly mattered to me now. As I began having these conversations with friends and clients, I realised just how many women were quietly asking similar questions. So I decided to share this little guide with you. My hope is that you feel seen and, most importantly, inspired to become curious about your own life — what matters to you, what lights you up, and how you want to feel in this next season. Because underneath all the roles, expectations and busy, there is still you. The joyful, curious, vibrant, fully-alive you. She’s been there all along. — Jacqui

Could there be more to the story?

As we are all aware, midlife can bring very real changes. Perimenopause and menopause play a part in changes to energy, mood, motivation, sleep and how we feel in ourselves. But what if hormones aren’t the whole story? What if this season is also an invitation to become curious about the life you’ve been living? The years of doing, giving, caring, achieving, pushing through and being everything to everyone. The roles you’ve taken on. The expectations you’ve carried. The things that once lit you up but somehow slipped quietly to the bottom of the list. If you’re feeling depleted, overwhelmed, disconnected or simply thinking, “I don’t feel like myself anymore,” perhaps there’s value in looking at the whole picture. Not to dismiss what may be happening physically, but to gently ask: What else might I need right now? The Woman Beneath the Busy invites you to explore that question with curiosity and begin rediscovering the energy, joy, connection and parts of yourself that may have become buried beneath the busy.
